A tip from a citizen led to the arrest Thursday at the downtown Rapid City Public Library of a convicted child pornographer who is accused of violating his parole.
Jeremy Boyd Morrison, 31, of Rapid City, was arrested on a warrant out of Pennington County for a probation violation stemming from his original conviction for possessing, manufacturing and distributing child pornography in November 2012. The Black Hills Area Task Force officers located Morrison inside the library at a computer. He was arrested without incident after allegedly providing a false name to the officers.
Morrison is now in the Pennington County Jail pending court proceedings.
The Black Hills Area Task Force consists of members of the United States Marshals Service, the Pennington County Sheriff's Department, and several other law enforcement agencies in the Black Hills area.
