Friday morning, two cars were crushed at Scott Peterson Motors in Belle Fourche. But it was on purpose and all for a cause.
The Crushing Cancer event kicked off on Friday. This is the fourth year the dealership has partnered up with the American Cancer Society to raise money for cancer. Last year they raised $7,000 for the society and this year they hope to raise $8,500. A cancer survivor drove the truck that crushed the cars. Many people watched on and they say this is all for an important cause.
"So hopefully they can continue with this, the awareness will get out and people will start supporting the American Cancer Society," said Elisha Burton, a cancer survivor.
"It touches everybody's lives. I think our community, our customers, and employees enjoy this event and feel good about it. And we are lucky to be able to give back," said Scott Peterson of Scott Peterson Motors.
They will be raising funds all through May and there will be donation cans at the dealership.
