The oil boom in North Dakota is giving oil companies a good reason to expand.
One North Dakota based oil company is looking toward Rapid City for employment.
MBI Energy Services in Belfield, ND, held a hiring fair at the Country Inn and Suites.
Because the company anticipates increased drilling in the summer months, MBI will expand it's nearly 2,000 employee workforce with more Class A CDL drivers, diesel and workover rig mechanics, and field personal.
MBI recruiter Kayla Klein says the company chose to hire out of Rapid City for the same reason they have in the past.
"We have hired employees from this area, and they have been really good quality applicants," said Klein. "They are still on board with us at our shops, our fields, drivers, and so that's what makes us keep coming back to this area."
MBI currently drills in Western North Dakota, Wyoming, Texas, and Pennsylvania, but not in South Dakota.
