Downtown Rapid City has been going through some changes, getting more art galleries, Main Street Square, and now a new museum to add to the culture.
The Museum of the American Bison on Saint Joseph Street opened it's doors Wednesday. Celebrating first with a ribbon cutting.
The museum, which also features a gift boutique, offers many interactive displays, exhibits and guest lecturers.
The idea is to shed light on the complete history of the American Buffalo, from their prehistoric origin, to their uses in Native American culture, and finally their near extinction and re-population.
