State of man's mental health who burned down mobile home is a concern

Posted:

A Box Elder man who burned down his mobile home when it was still occupied just went through more psychiatric evaluations. Joseph Hodges, 29, is charged with arson and reckless burning after pouring gasoline on his mobile home and setting it on fire back in October.

His girlfriend and her ex–boyfriend were still inside but no one was injured. On Monday, Hodges' defense attorney again asked for the $100,000 bond to be reduced.  Judge Janine Kern denied a reduction saying that she is concerned about his mental health and that he might be a risk to the community.

Attorneys will now look over the new psychiatric evaluations. Hodges' next court date is May 28th.
