Executive Director of The Journey Museum retires

Posted:

He's lead a KOTA Territory museum for over a decade and today is stepping away leaving a very successful legacy behind.

Ray Summers was honored by friends & family as he retired as Executive Director of The Journey Museum, which he has held for the past 11 years.

Summers was instrumental in raising the profile of The Journey, as well as creating the state's first space program for elementary through high school students.

He says that he has very fond memories of his tenure with the museum but the thing he will miss the most is the people & relationships he created on the job, "I'm also going to miss the working with the partners of the museum throughout the state, our tourism partners with Rapid City CVB, they've been very important to promoting the museum, so I'm going to miss those associations ".

Taking over the Executive Director position for Summers replacement will be Jenna Norby.

She will taking the helm beginning May 28th.
