Rapid City, S.D. – Drivers take note: The Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff's Office will be conducting a DUI saturation patrol on Saturday, April 20 starting at 10 p.m.
Both agencies will ramp up patrol staffing that night, with law enforcement officers specifically assigned to locate impaired drivers. Although DUI enforcement is a constant priority for law enforcement, officers will be extra vigilant this weekend looking for impaired drivers, underage drinking, and seatbelt violations.
With many area schools hosting proms this weekend, the RCPD and PCSO want to remind young adults about the consequences of underage drinking and the dangers of driving impaired. We urge students to make smart choices, wear their seatbelts, and enjoy a safe and sober prom night.
We would also like to remind everyone to call law enforcement at 394-4131 or 911 if they observe a driver they believe to be impaired. Your tip could help make the streets safer for everyone.
