CHENILLE TABLE CANDY

22 ½ " X  12 ½ " finished

You will need:

  • 1 pack of candy (40 2 ½" squares)
  • 1 FQ for border and binding
  • 1/2 yds FQ for backing
  • 5 ½ yds of Chenille-it (narrow)

Pull out 6 squares of matching color from pack (for corner squares- this should be the least represented color in your stack- it is really great if chenille-it matches these squares)

All seams are ¼"

Sew remaining 36 squares into pairs- randomly

Sew (2) pairs together on a 2 ½" side – this will give you 9 rows of 4 squares

Layout and arrange rows to your liking and then sew together

(Refer to picture)

From border/binding fat quarter cut:

(3) 2.5" wide strips (be sure you are cutting so the strips will be 20" or longer!!!  -then sub cut:

(2) 2.5" X 18.5"

(2) 2.5" X 8.5" - these are the borders

(4) 2.25" X width of fabric- this will be the binding

Sew 4 of the reserved squares on to the ends of the short borders

Sew long borders to runner

Sew short borders on matching seams

Now lay out top, batting and backing.  Basting spray adhesive works great for this.

Place Chenille strips down in front of your walking foot and stitch down as you quilt along all the seam lines.

Start with the long strips in center- then do the short center pieces- last do the border seams from the outside edges- YOUR DONE

Trim and bind

Wash and dry!!
