A years worth of work by Tech students culminates today at the School of Mines.
The Surbeck Center played host to the annual "Senior Design Fair".
More than 60 projects by School of Mines students from the various engineering disciplines were on display.
The fair serves as a chance for students to earn a final grade by proving the skills they've acquired in real life applications to not just their professors & sponsors, but possibly their future employer.
Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering Marius Ellingsen says the fair also serves another purpose, " We consider this a bit of an outreach activity to Rapid City so that people can come and see what's actually going on at the school and what the students are up to."
The projects today included a concrete airplane and canoe, a black hills samurai sword, and even a guitar made from carbon fiber.
