It's not your typical science fair, when the School of Mines gets involved.
Civil and Environmental Engineering students at South Dakota School of Mines presented their research projects Thursday afternoon based on the topic of sustainability.
Some of the projects ranged from the sustainability of wind and nuclear energy to plastics.
Above all else the annual project gives the students the chance to be creative and think outside the box.
"We don't have a lot of assignments and things that
allow engineers to be creative. And so this one of those things for me it's
exciting because it lets them be creative and do something different, " said Jennifer Benning, a SDSMT Civil and Environmental Engineering Professor.
Students were also allowed to go from booth to booth and critique the projects of their fellow classmates.
