One Oglala Lakota college student is showing the true value of paying it forward.
A volunteer veteran advocate at OLC, William Waggoner, organized a clothing drive for students and the general public simply through word of mouth.
Over 150 people visited the drive Wednesday morning, which included clothes, baby items & other household necessities that were collected over the past 2 months.
A free raffle was also held for 2 children's bicycles.
Waggoner says the purpose of the drive was to create a sense of unity amongst students of the school, "This drive to me is about bringing fellowship and letting students know that we are one family and we are not individuals, that we need to help each other & give a hand up, not a handout".
Leftover items from Wednesday's drive will be donated to the Cornerstone Rescue Mission.
