Rapid City Rush roll up sleeves for charity

Rapid City Rush players roll up their sleeves and get crafty for a good cause.

They painted bowls Wednesday at Pottery 2 Paint in Rapid City, to donate to the Empty Bowls Luncheon put on by Feeding South Dakota.

The April 24th luncheon is for raising awareness and funds to help fight hunger in not only Rapid City but all of South Dakota.

They also signed a few bowls which be auctioned off during the event.

Rush players say they are happy to give back, by donating their time to paint and contribute to the 400 bowls for the event.

"It's great to get involved with the community. We have great fan support for our hockey and for our games. So anything we can do around the town we like to do it, and it's enjoyable for us," says Rapid City Rush Forward, Rusty Masters.

In comparison to bowls full of soup which will be served for lunch, the donated bowls will be on display empty as a reminder of those who are hungry.
