Rapid City drowning investigation continues, police seek help


The investigation into a weekend drowning at a Rapid City hotel continues.

According to a news release from the Rapid City Police Department, the drowning victim is 8-year-old Jasann Dubray of Parmalee. Police were called to the Econo Lodge on Disk Drive at approximately 10:15 a.m. on Saturday. When they arrived, they found several people performing CPR on Dubray in the pool area.

She was transported to Rapid City Regional Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation indicates that Dubray's death was accidental, but the investigation is ongoing.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
