New homes are going up quickly in Rapid City, now that space is no longer an issue.
According to builders, there are more lots available as a result of new roads in the area.
Elks Crossing off of Elk Vale Drive, another subdivision that has yet to be named, and Cheyenne Crossing, near Ellsworth Air Force Base, are hot spots right now.
"Actually in the last year we've seen more business than we have previous to that. Seems like the housing market has been real busy. Presently we're in the process of getting a new street ready that will be opening up really soon," says Stan Scheurer.
According to Scheruer plans are already in the works for another new street in Cheyenne Crossing, which will add 30 to 35 more lots to the neighborhood.
