A KOTA Territory airport will receive grant money to explore possible improvement projects.
The Sheridan County Airport will develop a new master plan.
The project costs nearly $398,000. All but almost $10,000 is covered by grants from the federal aviation administration and the state aeronautics division. The plan involves looking into any infrastructure improvements necessary.
Airport Manager John Stopka says the plan could include building a new terminal building.
"It was built in the 1930s, added onto three times over the years, and it's small. So we're going to do a feasibility study on it," said Stopka.
The plan will also study why more and more local flyers are opting for airports in Billings, Casper, and Denver instead of flying from the Sheridan airport.
