Search underway for missing inmate

(Sioux Falls, S.D.)- A search is underway for a missing state prison inmate.

Inmate Travis Thorngren walked away from Unit C, the minimum security unit of the Jameson Annex to the South Dakota State Penitentiary in Sioux Falls, earlier Monday evening.

Thorngren, age 30, is a white male. He is 5-feet-10 inches tall and weighs approximately 200 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.

Thorngren is serving a 5 year sentence for Grand Theft out of Lincoln County.

Anyone who sees Thorngren or knows of his whereabouts should contact law enforcement immediately.
