Last month he was taken into custody after allegedly threatening officers with a butcher knife on the streets of Rapid City.
Monday, he was arraigned, pleading not guilty to all charges.
Elijah White Magpie, 20, is charged with attempted pre-meditated first-degree murder, aggravated assault on a police officer along with two counts of intentional damage to public property.
He faces more than 50 years in prison if found guilty on all charges.
Officers shot Magpie in late February after he allegedly threatened them with a butcher knife outside of the Rapid City public library.
Police did use a taser but it was not effective.
No officers were injured.
He will be back in court on April 8th.
