A bill that would provide and additional $2 million in state assistance for fighting the Mountain Pine Beetle has cleared another hurdle.
Senators voted 34-0 Tuesday to pass HB1050, legislation that would provide matching money for the bug battle.
Two dollars of state aid would go to every one dollar raised by a county.
The bill now goes to the house.
If representatives agree to an amendment, that allows counties to receive the funds before they have raised the money, then it goes to the governor.
