A new elementary school could come to Sheridan

Posted:

A KOTA Territory school district may add another elementary school thanks to state dollars.

The Wyoming State Facilities Commission will allocate funding to Sheridan County School District #2 to purchase land for a sixth elementary building.

The district's kindergarten enrollment has grown by more than 120 students in six years.  Administrators say if that trend continues the district will need another facility by 2016.

The state has not yet determined exactly how much funding the district will receive.
