Police: duct taped dog prepared for burial

Police believe a dog that was found on the banks of the Cheyenne River wrapped in duct tape was prepared for burial.

A rock hunter found the body of the dog Monday afternoon under a bridge in Pennington County. Captain Corey Brubakken with the Pennington County Sheriff's Office says the investigation revealed the dog was a pointer mix between 7-years-old and 9-years-old.

Brubakken says there is no indication the dog was abused, leading investigators to believe the dog was prepared for burial - not killed.

Brubakken says there's no way to tell who owns the dog or how the dog ended up in the river.
