Children and parents at one KOTA Territory elementary school learn about bullying from puppets.
Valley View Elementary in Rapid City was one of 50 schools across the country that was selected to receive a 500 dollar grant.
The grant was presented to the PTA for take your family to school week; which is February 18-22.
Susan O'Kane, PTA President, said they wanted to use the money to teach children about bullying. So the PTA hired a puppeteer from Spearfish, Markie Scholz, to put on an anti-bullying themed show.
"Our goal is that the children will take away coping skills. Bullying is always going to be there and just to help the children deal with it more and ideas and suggestions on how to deal with it," said O'Kane.
Even with the wintry weather, O'Kane said they had a good turn out at Thursday night's event.
