Alcohol-related crash in Rapid City wraps car around tree

Three minors face DUI charges after a weekend accident that nearly tore a car in two pieces.

Rapid City Police Spokesperson Tarah Heupel says the driver, 19-year-old Corina Sitting Bear Rapid City, struck three parked cars on 7th Street before wrapping the vehicle around a tree.

Sitting Bear is charged with DUI, vehicular battery. reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, and minor consuming.

Two passengers aged 18 and 15 were also arrested for minor consuming.

Heupel says all three were in the front seat. They were taken to the hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
