With many people having days off from work or school, President's Day weekend is the perfect time to go on vacation.
And this year some famous Americans decided to ring in the weekend in KOTA Territory.
George Washington and fellow presidents Jefferson, Taft, Teddy Roosevelt, and Lincoln all made quite the appearance in downtown Rapid City today.
The presidents are the mascots of Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals and the famous presidents spent the weekend celebrating George's birthday by visiting area attractions and taking up ice skating at main street square.
And for Teddy, a visit to nearby Deadwood was quite the enjoyable experience.
"This morning we've been out and we took everybody up to Deadwood. Teddy had a good time there. He has a little bit of history there being a sheriff in North Dakota and he spent some time down here as well. So he wanted to check that out. And then we took them out snowmobiling, all the presidents were out snowmobiling earlier. And we've got a couple of the guys out there ice skating and we're just having a great time" said Tom Davis, Manager of Entertainment for the Washington Nationals.
The mascots will make their way to Mount Rushmore Monday morning.
