People in Wyoming get their chance to tell an elected official what they think about gun control and other issues.
Republican US Senator Mike Enzi came to Gillette and Sheridan on Saturday for the beginning of a listening session tour.
Enzi will make nine more stops like this throughout Wyoming next week. Those in attendance at Saturday's sessions appreciate getting a chance to address the Senator.
"I think it refreshes his mind because he otherwise would get stuck in the mud of Washington DC,"said Mike Watkins of Sheridan.
The topic brought up the most in Sheridan was gun control. Enzi told the crowd he'll fight against added federal limits because he believes people in Wyoming know how to use firearms responsibly.
"People out here are definitely concerned about losing their second amendment rights. And I have the best record on fighting that in the US Senate and I'll continue to do that," said Enzi.
President Obama wants to install a gun control plan that expands background checks and bans some semi–automatic weapons and high capacity magazines.
