Cruise ship troubles aren't stopping future passengers in KOTA Territory

Carnival canceled a dozen future voyages aboard the troubled ship after an engine - room fire on Sunday left the ship powerless and stranded in the Gulf of Mexico.

But the ship's problems don't seem to be stopping people from booking future vacations.

Rhonda Keller, the Rapid City AAA Branch Manager, said just yesterday she helped two clients book a cruise with Carnival on another ship.

She adds there is some good that comes out of a situation like this.

"If you're going on a cruise in the next week or month, it's probably going to be the safest ship you've ever been on. Because every cruise line, every ship is going to be looked over very carefully," said Keller.

As for the prices, Keller said the price for a cruise will not drop just because of this unforeseen incident.
