This year's Northern Plains Outdoor Expo in Rapid City wrapped up Sunday.
Fishing and other outdoor sports were featured prominently, as were several gun groups.
As the debate over gun control rages on, the groups at the Expo seemed intent on promoting sport shooting for all age groups.
Multiple vendors held gun raffles, and one of them gave away 100 firearms.
The groups say it's a way to showcase the side of guns some people don't see.
"I understand that people have some fears, but they don't understand guns," said Jerry Hirrschoff with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. "All they know is that some people, some guns get in the hands of the wrong people and bad things happen. But that's not what it's all about."
The gun groups were also trying to get more younger audiences interested in hunting because the number of hunters is dropping off.
