Phone, 911 service restored to Northeast Wyoming

Phone service has been restored to RT Communications customers in Northeast, Wyoming.

There was an internal power outage at the Newcastle switch at 9:30 A.M., Friday. That office provides voice and Internet services to approximately 4,189 customers in Northeast Wyoming.

All services in Newcastle were lost and the communities of Osage, Upton, Moorcroft, Pine Haven, Hulett and surrounding areas were limited to just local calling. The cause of the outage is still being investigated.

Internet services were restored by 10:53 A.M. 911 calling was restored In Newcastle and surrounding area by 11:55 A.M. with total services restored at 2:00 P.M.
