Goodwill opens Connection Center in Rapid City

Posted:

Goodwill unveiled a new link to the community in its Rapid City location Thursday.

Goodwill President John Hantla was among those in attendance to unveil the Rapid City location's new "Connection Center" facility.

The "Connection Center" strives to help individuals attain jobs through routine career skills fairs and use of a multimedia lab.

And as Hantla tells us, helping individuals gain employment is important to Goodwill.

"Goodwill's mission is building independence, quality of life, and work opportunities. And that's what our Connection Center does for folks out in the community. Last year through our connection centers we placed over 423 people into competitive employment outside of Goodwill," said Hantla.

The Rapid City facility is now the fifth in South Dakota, joining other "Connection Centers" in Aberdeen, Mitchell, Sioux Falls, and Watertown.
