Black Hills employers look for new hires right out of college

Students at Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City have the opportunity to meet with employers from some of the fastest growing fields in the region Wednesday.
More than 49 companies set up booths for the 16th Annual Career Fair, hoping to find that perfect employee.

Curt Lauinger, Career Services Coordinator says most companies will either be interviewing potential employees on the spot or scheduling them for the near future.
"So probably the largest number of employers that we have, the greatest variety is in the healthcare field, nursing, surgical technology, pharmacy, medical assistant. We see a lot of demand here in the Rapid City area and throughout the Black Hills," says Lauinger.

And alumni are using their experience to recruit another batch of recent graduates.
"I graduated last year, before I even graduated I was speaking with a recruiter for KLJ. As soon as I was done I went up to North Dakota, went to the new employee orientation so we're definitely looking for fresh students," says alumni Jason Meyers, who now works for KLJ Engineering.
