An artist's connection to nature on display at The Journey

One artist's connection to nature can be seen through her ceramics.

Artist Megan Sweets found art to be her escape while growing up.

Now, her ceramic art is on display at The Journey Museum.

Sweets says that art gave her an outlet to connect with the mesmerizing aspect of uncorrupted nature.

As an enrolled member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe, Sweets says she wants her exhibit to provide the motivation for other Native American artists to dream.

"It gives me an opportunity to get my art work out there. And to be an example for other Native American artists that dream that if you follow your dreams really hard that you can make them come true," said Sweets.

Her exhibit will be on display at The Journey through April 3rd.
