The heat is on in Deadwood Chili Cook off

It's not exactly peanut butter and jelly but chili and the super bowl have become traditional companions in KOTA Territory.
15 businesses set up stations Super bowl Sunday for the 2nd Annual Chili Cook off in downtown Deadwood.

It's part of South Dakota's Largest Tailgate Party.
Party goers can pay just five dollars to sample and vote for their favorite.
Organizers say between 300 and 500 people are expected to participate and sample chili's made my local chefs.

"When you look at the list of names of their chili's they're awesome. They've got a good sense of humor, because chili is chili and we've got white chili's, we've got green chili's, we've even got a mocha espresso chili today!" says Rhonda VanDenEykel, organizer of the event.
All proceeds from the cook off will go to the American Cancer Society and the Northern Hills Hospice Program.
