Rapid City Man found lying in snow after crash


A Rapid City man found lying in the snow outside of an apartment complex is in critical condition from hypothermia. Police say he likely spent the night lying outside of his car after it crashed into an apartment building early Friday morning.

Just before 6 a.m., police were called to the Fairway Hills apartments to discover a car had crashed into the building. The accident caused substantial damage.

The driver, 22-year-old Matthew Burgard was transported by ambulance to Rapid City Regional Hospital.

Police say the accident likely happened around 1 a.m.

Alcohol and overdriving the road conditions are factors in the accident.
