The recent snowfall in the Northern Hills has arrived just in time for Lead's annual Winterfest. One of the events taking place this weekend: dog sled rides!
Jack Christopher, who owns and operates Silent Run Adventures, spends countless hours in Minnesota preparing the pups to mush. After more than a decade of rescuing Siberian Husky's, and dog sledding for fun, he turned his weekend hobby into a business.
"I'm really expecting a lot of rides tomorrow (Friday). We did 140 last year so I'm guessing will do more than 200 this year," Christopher said.
Now, people in KOTA Territory will have an opportunity to experience the snow and sledding from a whole new point of view.
If you're interested in taking a ride, you can stop at the Kirk Trailhead south of Lead Saturday.
The rides are free and will be happening between 9 and 12 in the morning and 3 to 5 in the afternoon.
