The Stock Show appeals to the whole family: men, women, young and old. But there's a marketing effort underway this year to appeal to the ladies.
The first-ever Girls in Spurs ladies night out kicks-off Tuesday night at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in the ice arena. For $20, women receive a bit of good 'ole fashion girl's fun. The event includes a fashion show, vendors, 10-minute massages, manicures, hair tips and make-up tricks.
The idea was sparked by Amy Muller of Sutton Rodeo, who wanted to have a little something for everyone at the stock show, not just the guys.
"We knew there was a void at the Black Hills Stock Show for the ladies," said Tara Trask of Sutton Rodeo. "And so, we always had our own little ladies night-- her and I and another friend. It just spawned off of that. And we were thinking a big event that opens the doors to everybody."
Every ticket holder will be registered to win one of many vendor prizes, which will be drawn during Tuesday night's fashion show. The event is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
