Organizers of the Snocross Shootout are calling it the best show on snow to ever arrive in Deadwood.
On Tuesday, plows were pushing around snow as part of the preparation for the weekend's Snocross event at the Days of 76 Rodeo Grounds.
The events will feature some of the world's top snowmobile racers; many who compete in the X Games.
Lee Harstad, with the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce, said the event should bring in a much needed boost in revenue for the area.
"We haven't had a lot of snow for the winter recreational activities, but yet we've had some cold weather. So this is just going to be a good boost for the local economy to have a lot of folks coming into town not only the racers and the race organizers, but as well as upwards of a thousand spectators that are going to come into town", said Harstad, Marketing Director with the Chamber of Commerce.
