Man admits running multi-state pimping operation

He ran a multi- state pimping operation, training prostitutes in Rapid City and at least three other states.

Monday Jeramy Caron, 34, of Summerset received a four year prison sentence for promoting prostitution and pimping.

Caron previously faced 24 counts of hiring for sexual activity and pimping, but he pleaded guilty to promoting prostitution and pimping in December in exchange for a reduced sentence.

According to prosecutors, Caron ran numerous prostitution websites and received 30% commissions from the prostitutes he promoted. Prosecutors say making a plea deal with Caron was the best option for all parties involved.

"Mr. Caron was able to debrief and provide information the state believes will be important going forward in additional prosecutions perhaps, and certainly in providing background
information about the current climate of prostitution in our community," said Lara Roetzel, Deputy State's Attorney.

Caron's attorney Ellery Grey says his client is embarrassed by his own actions, and looks forward to using his education to gain full time employment upon his release.

Caron will receive credit for 256 days served.
