The Wyoming Highway Patrol found three pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop thanks to an alert K-9.
22-year-old Edwin Jacobs of Sheridan was pulled over two miles south of Casper on I-25 for speeding. The trooper could smell the drugs, so he deployed the drug detection K-9 around the vehicle. The dog helped the trooper discover a duffle bag in the front floorboard area containing marijuana.
The Highway Patrol says the marijuana has a street value of $15,600 and was destined for delivery in Sheridan. Authorities know the drugs came from Colorado.
Jacobs faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
