A child's wish will come true, thanks to a soccer fundraiser that began with a mission of buying new uniforms.
The Rushmore soccer club's second annual "dribble–a–thon" fundraiser was started with the intention of helping soccer players buy new uniforms.
This year, organizers put a twist on the benefit by donating 25 percent of the proceeds to the Make–A–Wish foundation of South Dakota.
More than $1,400 was donated to help youngster Rhianna Besler live out her wish.
"It's a blessing to be helping these kids and have these wishes and dreams and are struggling the way that they struggle. We're happy and we're hoping to be apart of it, " said "Dribble a Thon" organizer Paula Clary.
Last year Make-A-Wish of South Dakota had 72 wishes and only 9 were granted in the Black Hills region, a number the group hopes to increase in 2013.
