A KOTA Territory school district finds itself a few hundred thousand dollars richer after selling an old school building.
Sheridan County School District #2 sold off the old Woodland Park elementary for $375,000 to the Bethesda Worship Center, which will eventually re-locate to the school. The center says the building needs a lot of repairs, but hopes the facility will be ready for an Easter service.
Students moved into a new building three years ago, so the District had no use for the school. Administrators say the funds from the sale will finance upgrades.
"Support some of our renovations and operations of the district. We get a budget from the state and it'll be used to supplement some of those other projects to our other facilities," said assistant facilities director Jeff Wells.
The district has not made specific plans for the money yet.
