After a traffic safety study, the Rapid City Public Works Committee is looking into making changes at a dangerous intersection in Rapid City.
There have been some issues with left turn crashes at the intersection of Haines Avenue and Knollwood Drive in Rapid City, and a traffic safety study has revealed some option for handling the situation.
City Traffic Engineer John Less recommends adding islands in the intersection to prevent left turns at the intersection. This option would cost the city $70,000.
The Public Works Committee sent the issue to the City Council without recommendation, to explore their options further.
