A new study shows a KOTA Territory college is one of the fastest growing in the country.
A Community College Week special report shows Sheridan College ranks 11th in growth between 2010 and 2011.
Enrollment went up more than 10 percent during that time on the college's campuses in Sheridan, Buffalo, and Gillette.
The school's administration thinks a higher demand for trained and educated employees is cause for the growth.
"I think more and more people are recognizing it's a global, hyper-competitive economy in the 21st century and you really do need some level of college training and so I think that's part of what's driving it here in this region at least," said Dr. Paul Young, Sheridan College President.
Young also estimates that the number of full time students
has nearly doubled over the past decade to 2,500. Enrollment is closer to 4,500 when part-time students are factored in.
