After a week long search and numerous tips from the public, police apprehended the man wanted for questioning in the murder of a man at the South Dakota Rose Inn one week ago.

Thirty-year-old Charles Birdshead was taken into custody at around 7:00 P.M. Monday night in a mobile home on Marquette Drive in Star Village. Law enforcement officers say he was arrested on three active warrants, for obstructing police, possession of a controlled substance and failure to appear. Police still say Birdshead is a person of interest in the case, but have yet to declare him a suspect.

33-year-old Eustacio Marrufo was found dead in the parking lot of the South Dakota Rose Inn on East Boulevard North on January 7. Police still believe this was an isolated incident, and that Marrufo and the assailant were acquaintances.
