fishbat, Inc. is pleased to announce their dual efforts with Spartan Race in order to raise money for Island Harvest, a Long Island based food bank.
Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) January 12, 2013
On January 12, fishbat, Inc., announces “fishbattlers vs. Sandy: Benefitting Island Harvest,” an obstacle racing event which will go toward helping Hurricane Sandy victims.
fishbat is building the world’s largest mud run team to participate in the Spartan Sprint at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park, NY. The team will raise money for Island Harvest, a charity that distributes food to those affected by Super Storm Sandy. fishbat has partnered with the obstacle course racing giant Spartan Race and 50 percent of each team member’s registration fee will go towards Island Harvest.
fishbat is an Internet marketing firm located in Bohemia, NY. This is not the first time the company has used online marketing to raise money for Sandy victims. In November, the company also held a benefit concert called Sand-Aid, which also benefitted Sandy victims through the Island Harvest charity.
Now, fishbat is teaming with Spartan Race with the same goal in mind. Registration is $100 per person (which is the same price as normal registration for the race), and this includes a team T-Shirt and, of course, the chance to run in Spartan Race – voted Best Obstacle Race 2012 by Outside Magazine.
“We are really looking forward to this race,” said Scott Darrohn, fishbat COO. “The company had so much success raising money for [Island Harvest during Sand-Aid and we hope to be able to do the same by teaming up with Spartan Race.”
Darrohn adds that although it’s been a few months since the storm hit, many people are still recovering from the damage. Hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged during Super Storm Sandy and charities like Island Harvest need as much help as they can get for the recovery effort. Fortunately, Spartan Race shared the same view and was willing to team up with fishbat to form “fishbattlers vs. Sandy: Benefitting Island Harvest.”
Spartan Race is a mud run obstacle course that takes place year-round at various locations throughout North America and Europe. There are several different distances and levels of difficulty, so anyone can take part in a Spartan Race.
