City Council members see presentation on Senior Needs

After two years of doing research and collecting data, City Council members were invited to see the results.
The Richard Braunstein Government Research Bureau investigated how well Rapid City is meeting the needs of seniors in the community.

City Council members were presented with a plethora of data which shows Rapid City falls 'below expectations' in nine of sixteen categories.

Such as access to healthcare, fitness opportunities, mental health, and independent living.

"This was the preliminary report from the Government Research Bureau to let us know what the findings were. Now the committee needs to digest the data and determine what the next steps will be," says Sandy Diegel, Executive Director of John T. Vucurevich Foundation.
It wasn't all bad news, Rapid City was above expectations in area like safety and sense of community.
