Bond reduction denied for accused Box Elder arsonist

Three bond hearings and still, no bond reduction for a Box Elder man charged with arson and reckless burning.
Joseph Hodges, 29, is currently being held on a $100,000 bond, as investigators allege he burned down his mobile home in late October, while his girlfriend and her ex husband were inside.
No one was injured.

Judge Janine Kern stated at the last bond hearing in December she had concerns overHodges mental health and what risk he may pose to the community.

The court is currently awaiting the results of a psychological assessment, and Hodges is now being medicated in jail with anti depressants.

A bond reduction was denied. Hodges faces up to 35 years in prison if convicted.
