The new 19 million dollar water treatment plant in Rapid City is slated for completion right on schedule.
John Wagner, Rapid City's Water Superintendent said the Jackson Springs Water Treatment Plant on Jackson Boulevard next to the Cleghorn Fish Hatchery, is on schedule to open in August.
Wagner says the new filtration plant will meet the new Federal regulations on surface water treatment. The plant will take creek water and pump it across the street to another facility on Cleghorn Canyon Road where the water will be purified.
When it opens the plant will service most of Rapid City.
