An historic KOTA Territory site is looking for generous donors to help reopen its doors by the end of spring.
The Sheridan Inn was forced to close in October as the building underwent major renovations.
The second and third floors are getting a face-lift to offer more hotel rooms, which are intended to keep the inn self-sustaining in the long run.
Although the Sheridan Heritage Center says it cannot complete the makeover and reopen the inn without support from the community.
"To be able to get a donor who can come in to help us get our situation with the bank sorted out. Right now, we're sort of at a standoff on our mortgage," said center president, Jake Brooks.
Brooks estimates $1.6 million dollars is needed. He is optimistic the inn could reopen in late March.
