A new study finds that Wyoming saw the fourth highest population surge in the country last year. This means the Cowboy State is seeing exciting economic growth.
Even though other parts of the state saw more of a population boom, places like Sheridan are still feeling the effects.
The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce says that growth in the energy industry in nearby areas, such as Gillette and southern Montana, is causing more people to look at Sheridan as a place to live.
"We're still having requests and a lot of people looking at Sheridan as a whole, as a community to either relocate to or start a business. We've had some new businesses start here recently," said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dixie Johnson.
The State Economic Analysis Division claims Wyoming's population grew by 6,000 people over the last year.
