Terry Peak prepares for big holiday crowds

Because of this week's snowfall, and the cold weather allowing for snowmaking, Black Hills ski resorts are readying for big crowds.

Terry Peak Marketing Director Linda Derosier says Christmas week is typically a very busy week on the mountain. Stuart, Little Phil, Welcome, Snowstorm and Surprise, as well as the terrain park are now open.

And, because of the snowmaking and an extra two to three inches that have fallen in the last 24 hours, Derosier says they plan to have the Kussy Express Lift operating by this weekend. "Eventually, we'll get our new chairlift, Gold Corp Express going.  That will be a really exciting addition for Terry Peak because it's also going to be our 60th anniversary.  So, that's kind of exciting."

Gold Corp Express is expected to open sometime in January.
