Matthew Rangel, 38 of Rapid, was the driver of the Chevy Blazer that lost control and hit the oncoming Dodge Grand Caravan. The driver of the Caravan, Gaylen Holy Rock, 26 of Box Elder, was cited for driving without a license.

Rapid City Police say four people were transported to the hospital after a two vehicle accident earlier this morning.

Officers say they responded to a call just before 10:30 this morning of a Minivan traveling eastbound on Catron Blvd that lost control. The van was then was struck by a Blazer traveling the opposite direction.

The Blazer then rolled over into the ditch. Officers say there were several injuries, the extent of which is still unknown, but four people were transported to the hospital.

Catron Blvd was closed in both directions from the Service Rd to Belgarde Blvd by the Stoney Creek Apartments west of Highway 16.

Officers say Catron is expected to be re-opened by 12:30 PM MST.
